Chapter 1. History and Mission Statement





          The House of Chanel, a French company, manufacturer of luxury goods, one of the world's most famous fashion houses. Brand CHANEL is one of the few world of fashion and style, not just dictate fashion requirements for fans and all who care about the stylish and beautiful things, but also is its embodiment, speaking for many people a symbol of authenticity which is no doubt. The company also creates stylish jewelry, watches and has a single license for eyewear with Luxottica. Founder Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel opened her first boutique in 1913, touting designs known for simplicity. Famous perfume Chanel № 5 and " Little black dress" are associated with Chanel.

 After Coco Chanel died in 1971, Karl Lagerfeld took over the designs and revived the label. The logotype was given to Chanel by Chateau de Cremat, Nice, and was not registered as a trademark until the first Chanel shops were established. The Chanel logotype displays two connected, opposed letters C one faced left and the other faced right. The company has more than 100 boutiques worldwide. Also Chanel owns lingerie, swimwear brand Eres and manages seven ateliers through Paraffection. The company sells its products across Europe, Asia, North America, Central and South America and Ocenia. Chanel SA's affiliate companies include Chanel Inc. (U.S.), Chanel K.K.(Japan), Chanel Hong Kong, Eres, Paraffection and others. Chanel's mission statement is "To be the Ultimate House of Luxury, defining stile and creating desire, now and forever." The mission of Chanel's "look" has always represented and image of elegance, style and grace from the beginning of the brand up until now.
